Please help!

Hi there!

Lately, "The Sum of Us" was on tv and was shown in the night so I programmed my video recorder to well, record it. I watched the movie today and I thought it was just wonderful, absolutely lovely. There's only one problem: My recorder stopped recording the movie before it was over! So I don't know what happened in the end. Can anyone tell please? The last scenes I saw were when Jeff goes to the park with his father and meets Greg again and then they want to see each other again and Jeff tells his father and his father starts to cry and Jeff asks: "Is it because of Greg?" and his father "says" "no" and then Jeff is all happy and hugs his father. Those were the last scenes I saw from the movie and I long to find out what happened afterwards.
Please, please, please can anyone tell?

Jeff looked at the camera one more time, said 'Everything turned out alright in the end.' And as an afterthought added 'but what if he doesn't come?' The camera panned out to the Opera House and that was the end of the film. So it was an open ending

Thank you so much! Now, how did you know it was ZDF?? ;-)
But you know, somehow the end doesn't satisfy me. As for me, I would've wished a big re-uniting between Jeff and Greg and then a sign that they will stay together. But this, of course, is my idea. On the other hand, maybe I'm just not satysfied with the end because this was one of those films that you don't want to end...

I would take into account two left hands if I could only mend your heart.

Hey, any more German fans of this movie out here? I saw this film for the very first time on German TV last year and ordered the DVD right the next day. Weren't the scenes with the aunts really touching?

wow!! i just came onto this site to ask the exact same question because my DVD froze at almost the exact point your VCR stopped recording!!! what an awesome coincidence. its been driving me insane. i had a weird feeling his father died at the end because i saw the movie years ago and couldnt rememeber how it finished! i will tell my friend too because she was watching it with me and its driving her insane as well.
guess i just wanted to say thanks for asking the question because if you hadnt then i would have had to wait for the answer. and thanks to the person that gave details of the end also. you're a life saver!!
