Hadley whining about the money his brother left him

I know he's an evil psycho but seriously, he's throwing a fit about getting a ton of money? He's crying because he can afford a new car now? Don't by the damn car if you're so worried about one day years down the road having to pay out of your own pocket. Use it on your house or bills or a vacation. What a little baby. That scene always bugs me because of how stupid his problem is. Which is probably the point, but seriously what a bitch.

His complaint was that no matter what, he would have to give the government a good portion of it. Hence why Andy tells him to give it to his wife so he won't have to give it all to the government.

I remember that scene from the book too. I wonder if the government would get that much of it in real life.

I understand not liking that he'd have the government a good chunk of it but he still just got a lot of money you did nothing for. He got 35 thousand dollars. In 1950, which is around when the scene took place, thats over 365 thousand today. If I got that much I wouldn't be complaining even if I lost half of it.

In that case, I guess it's to show what an uncontent jerk he is.
