That's what I absolutely love ❤ was the deeply ingrained friendship between two prison convicts - Red & Andy. Both grew to trust each other and Andy admitted a lot of things to Red, most noticeably his pieces of a puzzle to an escape attempt. Red took that in good faith, followed the clues and got happily reunited with his friend in a tropical paradise.

That was deep loyalty right there and it's very heartwarming. The only other story depiction I can remember for undying friendship loyalty is "Watership Down". Those were rabbits, but it's humans that are depicted here. Regardless of what you are though, a loyal and trusted friendship is the most important thing of all.

I agree with what you said , the friendship was a really strong bond they shared. The reuniting at the end was amazing . I would have liked to see what happened in the prison after the warden had killed himself and the others were carted off to jail

In reality nothing happened, all those prison characters are just there, standing around, waiting for the scriptwriter to write some additional scenes!! After 20+ years I'd bet they are getting tired of waiting. 

You are not sane, matgirl, starting Writing sick lies about me when I have no idea who you are and never written anything to you and just started making up lies about me all of a sudden, started bullying me. It's a crime to spread lies about someone on the internet!

You don't hear the word friend mentioned in many movies nowadays. Watched this recently and its such a great human story. Thank you Darabont and cast and everybody that worked on this gem. Its perfect.

I agree, I especially like Red's thoughts at the end before they reunite. " I guess I just miss my friend".

The Shawshank Redemption is one of the great buddy movies of all time.
