The Shadow Nose.

Is vary large!

how come they changed his face everytime he became the Shadow?

reply

Because the Shadow's nose is a very important part of his character. Its kinda like Batman's ears; when you see a shadow of a man with large vertical ears, you instantly know its Batman. In the comic books, the angled nose he was very similar to that.

ROFL - I've been saying it was Daniel Baldwin for years!!

I watched it for years and never even noticed the transition (in my defense, I was probably all of about five years old when I first watched it) until I watched the fight scene towards the end more carefully. (It's the most obvious here)

You're not quite right, though. His face changes to look like Ying Ko when he becomes the Shadow, because he uses the darkness in his own heart to fight evil, making him completely badass. When he's *not* the Shadow, his face goes back to the young-and-good one. The whole idea of the Shadow is that only HE can triumph over evil because he used to be just as bad.

Tulku: Yes. I also know that for as long as you can remember, you struggled against your own black heart and always lost. You watched your sprit, your very face change as the beast claws its way out from within you. You are in great pain, aren't you?
[Cranston leaps at the Tulku, who magically vanishes and reappears]
Tulku: You know what evil lurks in the hearts of men, for you have seen that evil in your own heart. Every man pays a price for redemption; this is yours.

hahahahah lol!

It makes him look more like Victor Jory, who played the shadow in the old Serial. It's worth a look for real shadow fans. Although he doesn't turn invisible, like the previous movies, he does have a creepy as hell laugh. Margo is much better than that too. I was pissed they gave her powers. that was pretty stupid.

That was an on-the-nose answer -- thanks for the grins!

I don't know why it took me TWELVE YEARS to notice this answer ... but bravo!

Poor Daniel ... at least Alec looks more like him now

reply

I would say its because even he knows that that red scarf and big hat isnt much of a disguise...so along with the ability to be telepathic and put images in peoples heads he makes it seem like he has a different face as well.
