The Shadow remake cast

The Alec Baldwin version of The Shadow was merely based on the radio broadcast back in the day. If Sam Raimi were to do a remake of the Shadow, which i think he's trying to, then I hope he bases it off the story in print, in which the Shadow was a man of many faces and many identities. Lamont Cranston was in fact one of his identities, but that's not EXACTLY who he was. He was a former pilot turned spy, named Kent Allard who learned how to "cloud men's minds" as he traveled through Asia. After he faked his death in South America, he then returned to New York as the Shadow and took on different characters with different faces and different identities. John Lone did a so-so job as Shiwan Khan in Russell Mulcahy's version, but i'd like to see someone else play him. Perhaps not in Raimi's remake, but in a later sequel or something. Here's who i'd have for the roles if they were to do a couple sequels:

Kent Allard/Henry Arnaud/Isaac Twembley/Fritz, the Janitor/The Shadow - CHRISTIAN BALE
Lamont Cranston - CHRISTIAN BALE - Allard and Cranston were almost identical
Margo Lane - MELISSA GEORGE
Detective Joe Cardona - DAVID BOREANAZ
Detective Sergeant Markham - JOHN CORBETT
Commissioner Ralph Weston - J.K. SIMMONS
Dr. Rupert Sayre - STANLEY TUCCI
"THE HAND"
"Thumb" Gaudrey - JASON PATRIC
"Pointer" Trame - WES BENTLEY
"Long Steve" Bydle - THOMAS HADEN CHURCH
"Ring" Brescotti - DYLAN McDERMOTT
"Pinkey" Findlen - DAVID WENHAM
Dr. Bodil Mocquino/Voodoo Master - JAVIER BARDEM
Shiwan Khan - CHOW YUN-FAT
Fiveface/Jake Smarley - ADRIEN BRODY
Lucius Olney/Thade/Death Giver - LACHY HULME
"SHADOW AGENTS"
Harry Vincent - BILLY CRUDUP
Moe Shrevnitz - JON FAVREAU
Burbank - SAM ROCKWELL
Clyde Burke - WILLIAM H. MACY
Cliff Marsland - PADDY CONSIDINE
Niles Crofton - JUSTIN LONG
Hawkeye - HENRY IAN CUSICK
Rutledge Mann - DANNY HUSTON
Jericho Duke - KEVIN GREVIOUX
Dr. Roy Tam - JACKIE CHAN
Slade Farrow - EDDIE MARSAN
Claude Fellows - MICHAEL WINCOTT
Myra Reldon - ELIZABETH BANKS

Director: SAM RAIMI

I know Christian Bale's popularity is overrated, and he did a good job as Batman, but he would do better as The Shadow. He just has the face for it. The origin of the Shadow would be completely redone, as well as the intro to a small group of his agents, and a couple NYPD detectives. In this one, the Shadow would be up against the Voodoo Master and his powers of evil.

Voodoo Master, as played by Javier Bardem, as the villain? I like it! As for Bale as The Shadow, I dunno about that. He'd be great for the part, don't get me wrong, but after playing Batman, I doubt he'd be up for it. Oh, and Chow Yun-Fat as Kahn is a great idea.

I agree. Bale probably wouldn't be interested after playing Batman twice, possibly a third, now playing John Connor, and eventually Melvin Purvis in Public Enemies. It's just when I watch him as Bruce Wayne in the Batman movies, when he's all shaved and cut up and his hair is decently combed and whatnot, he just has the Shadow look about him. I dunno, when it comes to casting the Shadow, he's the only one I think who could pull it off rather well. Who else could you see play the Shadow?

He's certainly got the perfect face for it, and the acting chops, but it'd be too...he'd sleepwalk through it, I think.

Who else could I see play the Shadow? Hmmmm...Vinnie Jones, though a bit older, is a choice I'd be curious to see. As for a younger choice...Josh Lucas, maybe. It's difficult because in addition to appearance, the voice is crucial.

You're right about the voice, damn, i didn't think of that! Baldwin had the perfect voice and LAUGH for the Shadow. I dunno if Bale could pull off that kind of mustard. He damn near lost his voice while doing Batman, because as Batman, he made his voice all gruff and throaty. Vinnie Jones? The Shadow, yes, his alter-ego, no. Josh Lucas? He seems to be losing his popularity these days. I dunno, that's a hard role to fill.

I dunno, I think Vinnie could pull it off. Watch "Midnight Meat Train" and the scenes in which he's just waiting for the subway, he walks with quite the elegant stride. Besides, no one thought Heath Ledger would be able to pull off the Joker, and then...

I agree, Bale is not right for The Shadow just because he played Batman. I think it's important to establish that The Shadow is a unique character and not a rip off of Batman.

If I was the casting director, I would have all the actors do the laugh at auditions.

I think Billy Crudup is a great choice for Harry Vincent. I would like to see Pete Postlethwaite or Tommy Lee Jones as Moe Shrevnitz, Woody Harrelson or Simon Pegg as Burbank and Naomi Watts or Cate Blanchett as Margo Lane...

He's a bit too old, but I was watching a movie recently with Christopher Walken and thought what a good Shadow he would have been.

Trying to think of more recent actors who have had same aura of suave deadliness in their movies, I was reminded of Daniel Craig from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. The guy definitely has The Shadow's piercing look and fighting skills.

Daniel Craig?? I don't think so, it's the same deal as Christian Bale. I think it should be an actor who is not well known or hasn't played a comic book superhero.

IT'S REALITY SHOW CLIP TIME!!!!!!
