A few months ago I saw this movie for the first time, and recently decided to buy it. I bought the British R2 version since it was in widescreen, and the running time is 1 hour 43 minutes, but the IMDB lists the movie's running time as 1 hour 48. Is there something from the release I bought that's been cut or is the IMDB's info inaccurate? Since I've only seen the movie once, I'm not familiar enough with it to spot any differences right away.
shareI believe that a British R2 DVD is in the PAL format, which translates to 25 frames per second as opposed to the standard 24/sec. This means the movie would move slightly faster and thus have a shorter overall running time.
I did the math, and this is most likely the case, as a 24 frames/sec movie of 108 minutes would be shortened to about 103 minutes at 25 frames/sec.
