Hotel Monolith

Does anyone know if the interiors of the Hotel Monolith were shot at an existing hotel? They look way too detailed to have been a set, though I haven't been able to find any details showing a location shoot.

Anyone know?

I'm trying to find that out myself. I saw an extra for the shadow making, and saw set sketches, but it was brief. I'm trying to find info on the building itself. I love art deco and was wondering if it was based off a real building.

I have here (somewhere..!) the original Movie Magazine that was published for The Shadow - inc. lots of behind-the-scenes photographs etc. I'll check sometime and see if there is anything mentioned about Hotel Monolith. Amazing architecture!

Agreed, excellent arcitecture. Easy to forget how beautiful art deco is before Miami tackied it up. e.g. Chrysler Building in NY. Salmon is a fish, not a color.

In my humble opinion, In unsure if it's also clear that outside locations were studio sets or existing building closed off for shooting. regarding interior furnishing, I was convinced that those were actual building interiors and not set pieces. if the latter is indeed the case, then congratulations r indeed in order here. Very beautiful classy set pieces indeed.
