Worst Baseball film ever made?

I'm sure these have all been mentioned, but I couldn't help it. This movie must drive baseball purists crazy. I mean, the goofs and inaccuracies are so obvious it's beyond belief. Just some I can remember:

-A baseball GM has just as much say in signing a prospect than a scout. If a player does poorly (or vomits on a mound) it's on the GM.

-The pitcher in the beginning who makes it to yankee stadium, vomits. He signs and pitches immediately for an mlb team. This is almost unheard of. Baseball is the one sport where the road to the bigs is long and hard in the minors. Nobody signs, and then pitches a game just like that.

-It's physically and humanly impossible to throw a baseball faster than 104 mph, let alone 109.

-He hit the ball off the yankee facade in left center field. That's about a 700-800 foot home run.

-This movie sucks balls.

It’s supposed to be ridiculous.

Also have you ever seen Major League: Back to the minors? Granted this movie is nothing great although Albert Brooks absolutely kills it.

How'd you like The Natural?

This post is 13 years and was originally on IMDB. I hope the OP is on Moviechat, but I'll offer my take on The Natural.

There are some silly things (both physically and character wise) that happen in this movie, but overall, it's one of my favorite films.
