the random zz tp song

I think I actually read somewhere that that was an editing mistake. They had another song in mind and for some reason the ZZ Top song was accidentally used instead. And, no, I can't remember what song was really intended for that scene.

Are you talking about the song that plays when he is getting ready to leave on Christmas eve and in the scene where Laura is in the police station saying none of the guys dressed as Santa is Scott? If so, I think it's fine.

I always took it as probably a song Tim Allen likes and wanted it in the movie and to emphasize that he’s a “rock n roll” Santa. Also the lyrics “give me all your loving” go along with the parents loving Charlie and everything happening in the 3rd act because all the adult characters want Charlie.
