they wake up

new presents are out under tree and parents dont bat a eye?

The message of the movie was to spread magic and "something to believe in" towards adults who grew out of believing in magic.

It worked in the sequel when Scott and the principal (Mrs. Claus hit it off.)

As soon as children cease to believe in Santa Claus, they realize that their parents bought the presents.
