The Biltmore Estate-Asheville, North Carolina
I've been inside that house. Most of the scenes in the movie were shot inside.
I recognized 3 of the rooms.

WOW, good for you.
Do you want a cookie?
How about an award?
Oh shut up subsound. I went there like 3 months ago and they pointed out the rooms where Richie Rich was filmed at.
shareI live in Hendersonville NC which is about 30 mins away from Asheville. So i have been in the Biltmore house loads of times.
shareIs it really as big as it looks inside?
shareI go to school at Appalachian State.. so I've been there a bunch of times too.. I have a few friends who had their proms there.
Sometimes people have feelings. I am referrin' to people here.
Mhjm6 it is really big. Ad it is so beautiful I wish I had lived there (as long as I had a lot of other people living there, because it would get creepy being alone in such a big house)
Gnarylime I just graduated from West Henderson High in Hendersonville and I had both my junior and senior prom at the Deerpark a restaurant located on the Biltmore grounds.
It does look huge inside and out, but I wouldn't mind at all having it all to myself, except for a butler like Cadbury. I just hope he wouldn't be like the butler in "Mr. Deeds." I'd love to see what it all looks like.
shareI Live in Asheville and yet I've only been the the Biltmore Estate once...

Hey Ganrly I went to App for 3 years but didn't graduate. My brother did graduate from there, though. I left in 2003. I miss Hebron Rock Colony.
shareHebron!!! Ahh I'm pretty much for sure that it's one of the most beautiful places on earth :) I'm spending my first summer in boone this summer and I am very excited about it...

I was there on a field trip when they were taping that movie. Couple of us talked to the butler. I have pics of some of the stuff there like the dollar sign bushes.
sharehave their been any other movies filmed there
shareyeah I know others have I just can't remember which ones. I live in asheville too and thats where we had our prom. It's an amazing place; not only the house but the whole estate.
shareMuch of the Green Mile was filmed in Banner Elk(right outside of Boone) and I remember the pocal paper talking about all the producers had to go through to shoot there, including hefty fines for destroying as much as a little twig. They were told that they had to leave it the way they found it, and being a rich area, were not impressed by Hollywood. I respect it-keep it clean or piss off, Hollywood!
shareOne of the times I visited the estate they were filming "Patch Adams." They stopped us from moving and we had to sit around for a good bit before we could get going again.
Peter Sellers' "Being There," among other films, was also filmed there.
Warner Bros has answered our prayers-- BLADE RUNNER: FINAL CUT--in theaters and DVD in 2007 !
Biltmore has been a location for a number of movies.
And I have been wondering about the fictional locations of the various fictional estates which Biltmore has portrayed.
I have read that Richie Rich (1994) is set in Chicago. Though I suppose that the precise fictional location, if mentioned, would be outside the city of Chicago in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin. Was a more exact location than the Chicago area mentioned?
