John Larroquette(Van Dough)

I liked this movie, but one problem I had with it is how John Larroquette's character ended up. I think him having go to prison was a cop out by the writers. What they should have done was have Van Dough fall to his death off the mountain when Cadbury fired the laser at him which caused him to lose his balance and tumble down the nose and off the edge. Having him get caught in the ropes was stupid. I know it's a kids movie, but I have seen some kids movies where they have the villian meet horrible deaths.

For a kids movie, its pretty intense. All the guards have machine guns and the sexual induendo between the mom and dad was pretty thick.

I'm thinking the screenwriter might have thought his dying that way might have been a little gruesome for a kid-oriented movie...of course, there is a school of thought that death was too good for Van Dough and justice was better served by him doing gardening and maintenance on the Rich estate...a sort of
Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen" sort of thing?
