Liked it as a kid, but now...

I find this movie highly absurd. The entire mission at the end was overly fake and stupid I could only force myself to watch it.

The villain's right hand man who seems more hell bent on destroying the mountain sculptures of the Rich family than actually killing the Rich family.

The guard's extreme deafness when the kids launch the fertilizer with a machine that not only produces a LOT of smoke, but makes an aweful racket.

The villain's right hand man who only decides till the end of fighting the butler to whip out the knife.

The scientist's severe overacting.

The inprobability of after getting stung by a remote control bee, the villain's right hand man (yet again) runs into the one switch on the wall that stops the disaster from happening.

Richie somehow gets to know the business better than the villain.

Oh I could go on and on but I don't have that kind of time. Excluding the first 2 movies of Home Alone, I hate every other movie with kids outsmarting the villains whose IQs being so low anyway that it takes no effort whatsoever to foil their insidious plans.

I was thinking the exact same things. It's mindless humor for little kids but for older people it's just horribly unrealistic.

Its a kids movie :)

You know, after watching it again, it made me think to myself: I honestly think I could've written a better movie. I will not deny that I loved the movie as a child. I happen to still think it's a cool movie. But honestly, it's definitely a pretty bad piece of film.

aww come now guys, this movie is hilarious (and I'm 30 btw). You have to admit, Johnathan Hyde totally stole the show (for me anyhow)

I thought it was sweet that Cadbury was willing to follow Richie through hell & back to help save the folks & that, unlike what you'd normally think a valet would be like, he actually seemed to connect with Richie on a personal level ya know?

If found that the movie was charming and amusing, it kept me watching it as I did stuff on my computer. I'm watching it now on ABC Family. Cadbury & Richie are a good team, including the kids that used to hate him and now like him. I wonder where those kids are now. The Scientist was amusing. This was pretty mild, I did like Home Alone 1 & 2 so this one was fine for Culkin.

You need to take a long hard look at your life if you are going to think this much into a children's movie.

It's not that bad, the final action sequence on the mountain was pretty cool and I did kind of like the Butler character (he was kind of like Richie's Alfred) but yeah other than that it's really not that great.
