Did anyone else get the feeling that lelaina and troy had hooked up/slept together years ago but had then just become great friends? At the beginning of the film Troy mentions to her something that seemed to me to be saying they had hooked up, but then Lelaina refers to how they were both drunk. so maybe it didnt mean anything then. Curious to hear other peoples takes.

I have always thought that Troy's remark at the very beginning of the film during the graduation scene (in which he mentions the date they hooked up) meant that they had gotten together at least once before. It's not clear if they just engaged in a make-out session or if they actually did "it" but I think the implication is that they do have a history. So that makes things more clear later when they finally give in to their feelings. Also, Troy tells Lelaina that "five bucks" -- cup of coffee, cigs, and her -- is all that he needs, which seems (to me at least) to show that he has deep feelings for her, romantic feelings.
