Cynicism has never been so boring and banal
Thanks Seattle.

They should have titled the movie "Waaaaaah: The World Doesn't UNDERSTAND Me!!!!"
As someone who was supposed to be a Gen-X member, I gotta say this movie encapsulates the self-important, pseudo-intellectual, purposefully depressed load of horse sh!t mode of thinking that so many people jumped into because it was "cool" to do so at the time. Like wearing flannel and carefully torn jeans.
Effing whiners...
Amen mr-ection.
shareYeah, it's like Nirvana in movie form... angst, sadness, whining, yet doing nothing to change it. Pass...

Even worse than Nirvana, in my opinion. Despite Cobain's incessant whining, at least I can say I find some of Nirvana's work entertaining on a purely sensational audio level, unlike this film, which to me is both annoying and unentertaining.
the real irony here is that the ultimate form of cynicism and whining are you guys bashing a movie and a band that i'm sure effected more people positively than anything you guys will most likely do. funny how people bash this movie so much for it being "whiny" cause it's trendy nowadays to bash any form of grunge ala "hipster"-dom. you guys sound like a bunch of old men bashing rock 'n roll music in the 60s. its just a MOVIE. dont take entertainment so seriously

Oh right. So you visited this IMDB board because you don't take Reality Bites seriously to any degree? Didn't you also say that this ridiculous movie has, supposedly, had a "positive effect" on a great many people? If that's true, then how could it not be taken seriously? How is it possible to be affected so viscerally, on such a personal level, by this film and not take it seriously? You don't make any sense at all. Your level of argument barely rises above the schmucks who are the subject of Godwin's law. Funny how the intellectual midgets resort to "don't take things so seriously" when they stumble upon an opinion they don't like, all the while completely oblivious to their own hypocrisies. If you don't take movies seriously, this movie in particular, then why the hell are you here??? Duh.
Wow really? That is the most uninformed, uneducated, completely WRONG statement I have ever heard anyone ever make about Nirvana. What is wrong with you that you can't see the genius in their work? Oh well, opinions are like a$$holes....everybody's got one.
