Stemple vs Van Doren - new contest, up for it?

They're still alive today, I think they should finish what they started by having a modern Twenty One quiz show in a fair manner. That would be awesome to watch. I'd pay to see it.

Why are they letting this fantastic opportunity go?

I doubt that you would get VanDoren to agree to it. Too much time has gone by and I'm sure that he would just as soon let sleeping dogs lie......

Yep, Charlie would be the no-show. Herbie would be all over it.

He had to be dragged out of the spotlight with his teethmarks still on it and television is like a monkey on his back.

Okay…Tell me this: If television is “a monkey on his back” – Herb Stempel, that is – how the hell is it that 30+ years managed to elapse between his television appearances?

The real Herb isn't exactly TV pretty and he made trouble, which makes him the worst kind of has-been.
