Stempel as College Student

Watching this again recently, I noticed how Jack Barry said Stempel was an ex-GI college student and Stempel said he wanted to thank Geritol for helping him realize his dream of a college education. Couldn't he have gone for free on the GI Bill? Was this a mistake or was he trying to suck up to geritol do you think?

I didn't catch that. Stempel could have attended college on the GI Bill. Maybe Geritol helped him with other expenses and/or he was trying to suck up to them.

GI Bill wouldn't have paid for the living expenses of Toby and the little boy.

Aside from needing financial help, Stempel may have had "tired blood".
