In the IMDB credits he is called Jim but in the cast list he is called Dick which is correct and second is he a real person or just made up for the movie I can find no sight with him on it ???

Who are you talking about, Dick Goodwin? He's a real person, Richard Goodwin, wrote the memoir on which this film is based.
