Why would bad ass gangsters like Jules and Vincent have any dealings with those little beta males? I understand that they "fucked" Marsellus Wallace, but how would those nerds even be in a position to do such a thing? How would they have the COURAGE to do it?
Jules and Vincent have nothing to do with the geeks. They're there to collect the debt and exact retribution on them for failing/fucking over Marcellus Wallace. What the geeks and Marcellus had in common isn't really the point, but rather just an example of the treacherous lifestyle Jules and Vincent lead that gives the audience a good idea of their lot in life.
It happens more than you'd think, actually, plastic gangster suburban kids trying to play like they're hard and get into drug dealing way above their head.
I thought they were chemist grads cooking something for Wallace. They decided to steal his stuff, eloped to a random hotel/flat to hide an think about how the were going to shift the stock.
Marvin, the guy that gets his head blown off by accident in the car. He is the snitch who lets Wallace know where they are. Along come Vincent and Jules, everyone dies, Marvin is untouched, Wallace gets his case back.
Brett is the mastermind, he is the big brain, the others followed Brett and got killed. Kids way out of their depth.
They really looked like drug dealers or gang bangers. That was sarcasm.
>You put way too much thought into this.
Well if you think these guys a drug associates the casting director really messed up. Tarrantino definitely put thought into the script and characters. They were cast as nerdy looking types for a reason.
How would soft nerdy types get hold of drugs from a crime lord in L.A?
Not much of a strain on the brain to get they were the chemists and Marvin was the rat.
I don't feel this question was ever adequately answered. Those little dudes were bottom-rung beta. How on earth could they be "business partners" of the formidable Marcellus Wallace?
