With Sora playing Richard Tyler, here is the idea of him going through the movie's obstacles (including some from the original book, and some from the video game) played by Disney characters and places:

In The Library:
Jungle noises in the halls - Tarzan vs. Sabor
Peter Pan crocodile - itself
20,000 Leagues giant squid - itself
Baskerville Hound - Cerberus from Hercules
The Orient Express - The haunted pumpkin carriage from Cinderella III

Horror:
Haunted house - The Haunted Mansion
The Raven on the door - Diablo, Maleficent's raven
Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde - Ghost Bride
The gargoyle - Bronx
Frankenstein - Julius from Runaway Brain
Grim Reaper - Cat judge from "Pluto's Judgement Day"
Jacob Marley - The Phantom from the Phantom Manor
Tower of Terror elevator (my own suggestion)

Adventure:
Pirate ship - The Black Pearl
Moby Dick - Monstro
Long John Silver - Barbossa
George Merry and Tom Morgan - Pintel and Raghetti, respectively

Fantasy:
Dragon - Maleficent
Lilliputians - Dancing mushroom from Fantasia
Big Bad Wolf - himself
Pixies - Tinkerbell and friends
Magic Carpet - itself
The Queen of Hearts - herself
Beanstalk - Mickey and the Beanstalk version

How about the kid in the Sword and the Stone? He was young and awkward enough.

But he would still part of the fantasy universe that is the pagemaster. I was thinking of someone from a more modern universe, like our real world.

Anyway, the point of this is not to argue who plays the lead, but to enjoy the things that he encounters.
