Native American Jacket

Steven Segal wore a leather fringed Native American Jacket in some of his movies.
Does anyone know where I can find the name of the artist that painted it?
Thanks for your help

Hello jene-jefferson, I hope this answers your question about the jacket, and outfits Seagal wore in the movie, "On Deadly Ground. According to the list of credits at both the begining and last of the movie, the following names received credit for all costume designs;
Chief Costume designer: Joseph G. Lulisi
Ass. Costume designer: Paki Wolf
Costume Supervisours: Mark Peterson, Darryl Athons.
Costumes: Robert Morgan, Deadra T. Scarano, Kendau Errair.

These are the seven people listed in the films credits, as those responseable for all the costume designs. On eBay on Dec. 24, 2006, I noticed a sale of a native American shirt that claims "Creations in Leather by Richie" made all of Seagal's outfits by the eBay seller, but I found no credits listed within the movie's credits to confirm that to be true.You can check with "Thirdwheelsales" on eBay, who is selling the native buckskin style shirt. He may know more about the answer you're requesting about, and Seagal's outfit designer's name. I myself only found these names listed above, listed in the film's long list of credits. I hope this helps you in your quest to find out the designer's name.
Wayne.

PS: With the amout of time I have spent on movie and tv shooting sets in the past, I would say all movie companies will credit all those who have contributed to the making of their movie in their credits list, including all persons and companies, who make and design their costumes. Most movies companies that are big, such as Warner Bros. who, in this case made this movie, would have their very own company designers on site, as well as back at their main studio(s) making their costumes for them. I really don't know if "Creations in Leather, by Richie" as claimed by Thrirdwheelsales, provided any outfits in this movie, but you can ask at e-mail address:.... [email protected] ..... and ask Thirdwheelsales...(Mike) yourself, and he should be able to provide you with the info, he claims on an eBay sale, was made by the very same person, who made Steven Seagal's outfits in this movie. All I know is the names listed above are the ones that are listed in the movie's credits as to who made their costumes, throughout the movie. "Creations in Leather " was never mentioned, nor was the name "Richie".
Kind regards and good hunting.

Actually, I would hope the respondent knows the designers don't sit and make all the garments, they design them, which often means draw a quick sketch and then farm them out to other companies, just like in real life. Especially true on low budget stuff like this movie. Most of the stuff you see in movies would fall apart on the street, it's made for a particular scene and as often as not is half crepe and just pinned together. The exception would be something seen throughout the movie, and in personal appearences as was Mr. Seagal's jacket. That kind of thing is usually or tailored, but again not by the designer. The days of studios having hundreds of seamstresses and designers working just for them ended many many years ago. Likewise, the designers get credited, not every little peon at the sewing machine. The credits would take longer than the movie if that were true. As far as the jacket in question, contact the studio, they will send you to an archivist who could probably get that information. But be patient, it may take quite some time for them to get back to you. Or contact Mr. Seagal's publicist.
