Interesting split reaction
This is one of those movies that gets a widely differing reaction from people. Boxofficemojo.com users rate it a 'C' on a scale of 'A' thru 'F'. Why not an 'F' or 'D' if Ebert is right.
Furthermore, in that voting, as many voters gave it a 'B' as gave it an 'F' (as of 3Aug2008).
In IMDB's breakdown, 53.4% of voters rated it 5 or above. Does that support Ebert's assessment?
Ebert should be able to keep his extreme condemnations, as was his "North" review, aimed at those films that would then end up in the bottom 100. He could, if he were really in tune with the public.
