Simply unfathomable

This movie is a melancholy statement on US filmmaking. Great actors and directors like these putting themselves into such a vile colossus of crap. Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert totally raped this film on their show and both called it the worst film of 1994, and they were being too kind in my opinion. This is the epitome of deplorable entertainment: an insensitive, ridiculous, vulgar, pointless, incompetent, awful, idiotic, unfunny, forced, disturbing, tasteless, dreadful, painful, and unbelievably stupid so-called "film" that is dominated by appalling racism throughout and a constant undercurrent of pedophilia. This movie is sickening and if manifested to human form, it deserves to spend the rest of eternity taking it in the ass from a guy named Molly and sucks so many dicks that it now breathes cum instead of air. This movie is an insult to humanity. Avoid at all costs

I think I'm more angry about the talent that had anything to do with this film then I am about the actual film itself.

God you can have Megan Fox...Give us back Vivien Leigh

Absolutely! All that talent endorsed and profited from the making of this film. That is an obscenity.

That isn't as irksome as much as the fact that they thought it would be a good idea. Particularly Rob Reiner (who prior to "North" made several good films and hasn't made a good film since then) and Kathy Bates (who has given frequently fantastic performances. I can't say consistently as much as I would like to because of "North")

Before North, he made Misery and A Few Good Men. After North, he made The American President and Ghosts of Mississippi. It's almost like he must've had a seizure during the filming and forgot the difference between good films and bad films. The script of this film is not so much 'writing' as it is 'making a mess with a pen.' I really can't believe it exists.

I'm not denying this movie is terrible (it is) and, admittedly, I haven't seen it in a while.

But I'm confused:

how is it racist and how is it pedophillac (I know that's not a word, but whatever)

Not trying to start an argument, I'm legit curious.

The racism is the obvious part because all of the ethnic groups whom North encounters are customized entirely by jaw-dropping stereotypes (for instance, the movie claims that eskimos force their eldest citizens to sail away and quietly die of starvation at sea when they are no longer able to contribute to society and that people in Texas all dress like cowboys and do nothing other than eat, farm, and dig for oil).

The pedophilia is hinted at (IMO) by the creepy way the film is obsessed with Elijah Wood's private parts; namely the disgusting billboard showing his asscrack, the line 'Loosen his pants!' and Bruce Willis dressed as a bunny among many other disturbing characters.

...but it's a kids dream sequence right? What else do kids know of foreign cultures EXCEPT stereotypes? As for the pedo stuff, I think people are seeing what they wanna see and it says more about them than the movie. And Willis as an Easter bunny is disturbing simply because it's Willis as an Easter bunny? Huh...

"dude i dont care i just love this movie you guys have a realy taste in movies what wrong with you"
