I expected a horrible film

after reading and seeing all the "professional" reviews, but...

The movie was actually pretty decent. Not a masterpiece, but I certainly wouldn't call it bad, let alone one of the worst movies of all time. It wasn't boring, had a few cool ideas and made some sense at the end. Also, a good message.

Nothing special, a mediocre film that has plenty of flaws, but nothing major.

I rate it 5.5/10.

It's really not as bad as some truly awful movies out there. Like, Date movie or epic movie, those are truly terrible, almost unwatchable movies.

North, is something, it's not nothing, but it's not great. It's TV movie quality with movie stars in it. It gets more hate than it deserves.

North was viewed as politically incorrect. Once that happens, critics crusade stridently against it and people are intimidated and decide to play it safe and hate it, like they're supposed to. It's also a common practice for crusaders to punish a politically incorrect movie by saying that everything is bad about it, and its very boring etc.

For another example of punishing, read Ebert's critique of The Last Airbender, a movie that made $319.7M worldwide, and did well in DVD ancillary--$26.5M in just the six weeks it was tracked. I'd say that proves Ebert's review of TLA was full of hyperbole.

There are movies even more politically incorrect than this that have gotten great reviews.

The awful reviews are largely because North is a pretty bad movie.

I think I know you feel, but I wasn't exactly expecting a bad movie. I rate it 6/10.

I think the music is the best part of the movie. In fact, that's what I'm listening to right now. I'm on The Secret Spot track.

It is a horrible film.

While it is one of my most hated movies...it's only slightly less bad than say Wired or Blues Brothers 2000 or the Arthur remake or Get Him To The Greek.

I never read any reviews. Just heard that the reviews were bad. I'm trying to watch it right now and I'm just so bored by it. It's repetitive and slow. I'm 37 minutes in and everything that has happened so far could have been condensed into about five or six scenes. I like the idea but it's poorly executed.
