This movie made me think about my own father...

Nobody's Fool is such a great movie. So moving. So sad. So heart warming. This movie made me think about my own father and the mistakes he made while I was a young child. Mistakes that I have been holding on to that I should have let go many, many years ago. Being a parent is difficult. We all make mistakes. And I realize that now more than ever now that I am a father. Life is so full of lessons. Most of them learned the hard way. This movie made me want to go staight to my Dad and tell him how sorry I am for blaming him for so many years.

I completely relate to that. Sully actually reminds me of my Dad in a BIG way.

Gotta agree with you guys. I saw this movie with my dad in the theater, at age sixteen, after he and my mom had been divorced for about four years. It made me look at it from his side too, which is hard for a teenager(what, other people have feelings too?) Just to know that he knew he had failed me, when i was in my formative years, and to watch his reactions to those scenes was wierd. I think of it sometimes, even to this day. I know complete abandonment like Sully is not the same as divorce, and that it happened much earlier in Peter's life, but I took from it what I needed. It really humanized my Old Man for me, made me feel sorry for being bitter. Something he couldn't do himself. Love this movie, Love it.
