About Nell's mother...
Nell's mother had a stroke, so how did she get into town a year before? On the kid's motorcycle? Also, how did the mother get her money? Did she get the kid on the motorcycle to do that too?
shareViolet's stroke messed up her speech and (judging from Nell's position as she paces around the table while Jerry muses about his family) her left arm, but she could still walk. I always figured if she needed to go somewhere she just walked, being a strong pioneer lady type.
She probably went to Dr. Lovell for a checkup and went to the bank. Violet wasn't a complete hermit, she just didn't come to town often.
Let's just say that God doesn't believe in me.
