Being a female, and other females might disagree, but i am 10x times more likely to get a nipple rise from cold than anything else. they don't become erect when eroused by a sight or a feeling. they're more kind of like goose bumps, like if someone caress's your skin it tingles. but guys really do have it all wrong to imediatly assume they function like a male errection. cold water definately makes them go hard, and they do shrink, but more like the scrotum skin than like the penis - the skin seems to contract and stiffen - it's not about blood supply. hey it may be different for other girls - maybe they do get nipple rise when aroused, but i know all girls get it when they're cold, and night swimming is usually just that.
i think you might be looking a little too closely at her breasts and although from what you've said you seem to get what the scene is all about, jodie foster is a brilliant actress, and nipple rise when it's cold is one thing women really can't control, no mattter what.
ps - u did mention shrinkage of male members - if that's the case, no matter how atractive liam is, it's hardly something for jodie to get excited over
ah yes, now i see...the male scrotum does, in fact, have similar surface texture to the female nipple region and does timidly recess like a spooked turtle retracting its head into its shell from a quick fright. I surmise those parts do this in order to sustain correct body temperatures when exposed to extremes of temperatures -- in this instance of very cold lake water. In converse to my original conclusion, this would mean that the cold water, indeed, aided Liam and Jodie in their roles as non prurient curiousities for each other; since Liam "accidentally" having an erection at the site of Jodie's nudeness would undoubtledly decrease the temperature in a blood filled erection and adversely affect the comfort of his member. What lengths these finely tuned actors go through to perfect their art!!!!!
