Hey all,
So I have been looking for the freaking soundtrack forever as well. Here is what has come of my research:
1. Buena Vista Sound did not release an actual soundtrack. All the websites I have been to list the "official" songs as the Baha Men songs, a Mozart sonata, a tango song, the "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" song, and then a song called "Dance Hall Soca," by Byron Lee and the Drangonaires which may be a promising fit for the missing maintrack (IF anybody can find it).
** 2. I know exactly what you mean by that "dooda dee" song played at the beginning, on the plane and, Katherine Heigel picks up the shell; it is the Main Title song and I presume it is by David Newman (the listed composer of the soundtrack). He is a really famous composer who has done a bunch of films. So the likelihood of getting in touch with him to see if he ever did/will release it seems small. But I would looove that song too.
3. In reply to the French version song question by Agagiet, one of the songs I know is for sure called "Ca Va" (the one Gerard sings).
4. I heard that the DVD was released with some audio included but I only have the VHS--that may be a rumor.
But hey! If there are so many of us out there who like that chill reggae/dancehall music--why can't they make a soundtrack??!!
Does anybody else have any ideas??
Hope this helps~
