I watched this a long time ago when it first came on cable, so my memory of it is a bit hazy on some of the actors/actresses that played in it, but up until now I always thought Natalie Portman played Nicole in this movie. It wasn't until I was looking through her filmograghy that I noticed she didn't. Anyone else besides me think this? I haven't watched it in a while, so maybe on a repeat viewing I'd see Katherine looks nothing like Natalie, but I don't know, maybe they look alike?

nope, it wasnt natalie portman, it was definitely katherine heigl.
that movie was when she was really young though. shes gained some pounds but its her

i saw "my father the hero" and "leon" both in 2004 and katie def ain't natalie. katie was already 16 when "my father the hero" was released while natalie was still 12 y.o. when she made her debut in "leon" opposite jean reno

maybe your getting confused with the french version? as i dont think both look a like. but the girl in the french version probs will look more like nat

That's what I'm thinking, too. Marie Gillain, the actress from the French version, does look a teeny bit like Natalie:

I never knew who Katherine Heigl was at all.. I just used to love the movie with no idea of who the actress was, because to me it didn't really matter back then. It was only recently when I re-watched My Father the Hero that I thought "Gee that girl actually looks familiar now"..then I found out it's Katherine Heigl..not that I even watch Greys Anatomy but I've seen her on awards shows and all..

Sorry, but nobody with an ounce of brains would think this. Heigl looks nothing like Portman and Portman would have been about 12 or 13 at the time. What did your seeing eye dog think?

wonderful a**hole comment.. fact is, when this movie came out, Heigl was a nobody (sorry Katie) and Portman caught the public eye long before Heigl did. Judging by the comments on here, with myself included, there were definitely a few people who had it in their memory banks from 14 years ago that it was Portman. Get over it.

Today they look nothing alike, but at that time, they resembled each other. I am rewatching this, and every time Heigl shows up, I think I am looking at young Natalie.
