Anyone else agree that the look, music, wardrobe, and everything else about this movie makes it seem like an 80's flick not a film made in 1994. Maybe it was made a few years earlier and for some reason wasn't released until '94?

Considering that Mara Wilson, who plays Susan, was born in 1987 .....
this hypothesis seems unlikely.
