Can anyone tell me why for sure Macy's refused it's name to be used in this remake?

Maybe because they knew that the film was gonna be played on sky all year round, drive people insane and, by extension, turn the world against them.

Or maybe they just didn't fancy it.

I wouldnt want my store's name on a dumb remake..well I thought it was kinda dumb..original is the best =]

wow, what helpful people "glitterbabe & smacherz" are, eh?

I LIKED the remake very much, it's a good movie in its own right.
I would like to know the real reason Macy's didn't allow them to use their name too.

Maybe some other helpful IMDB memeber will come to our rescue. :)

Just a guess- It could be because after the 170's version, Macy's was sold to Federated Department Stores and they didn't want their company on a remake incase the film flopped.
It may be totally wrong, but just making a guess.
