Religious Propaganda
This movie is nothing but religious propaganda, telling people to believe without seeing, blind faith is quite dangerous.

shareI'm a guy, mate. Stop saying that females are responsible for everything, you bigot.
Don't feed that troll (There_is_no_God07). That guy hates the black people, and he wishes that they're extinct.
I remember at one of his board, he said "I wish those blackies didn't even exist, why do you want animals living next door"
If you wanna meet this racist, sexist, dirty, anti-religious guy. Well here is his IMDB page:
http://www.imdb.com/user/ur13914837/boards/
Just take a look at his disgusting issues and discrimination against people and their religion/culture.
I guess I'm the only Atheist in the world that thinks religion is fair and should be on. He says that females are the worst beings. He's a such a *beep* retard. He's the BIGGEST troll on the planet.
He calls gay people have some super powers, if you hate them, they will curse you and you'll die--now isn't that an insult/offense to gay people?
Also, the BIGGEST homophobe.

Santa Clause and God are one in the same. To believe in one, you must believe in the other.
I'm sorry people, but I think some are forgetting that Xmas is actually a CHRISTIAN (be it catholic or protestant) holiday, when we all celebrate the birth of Christ. It is completely and totally appropiate that there should be some Christian theme-idea or whatever, even though this film hardly qualifies as such. If one doesn't want to watch a Xmas movie with Christian values, then maybe he or she should be watching a movie about Hannukah or some arab religion, not Christmas (and if one watches closely, the beginning of the word, Christ, tells who we are remembering or celebrating during this holiday, although it was adapted from pre-christian customs).

Yes, you're right, originally it was a pagan festival and then it was taken by the Catholic Church and converted into a Christian one for easy adjustment purposes. Ditto for the December 25, however, since it was embraced by them during the middle ages, it is now regarded as Christian.
Nowadays it's a Christian holiday that is celebrated worldwide even by non Christians, which is fabulous. What gets to me is that those people who are not Christian are against the demonstration of values and call it propaganda, which is ridiculous.
And yes, most religions have very similar values, but since we're talking about a Christian holiday like CHRISTmas, then I talk about Christian values. I'm not saying that these same values can't be observed in the Jewish or in any other type of religion, but let's call the things by their right name since that's the topic in the discussion.
Now, maybe initially I expressed myself wrong, but since 'theoretically' (I'll say this, so people don't get offended) Xmas is a Christian religion, then why shouldn't a movie that takes place in Christmas not show some sort of Christian value? What is it with people who are so afraid to talk about God? What's so wrong about it?
As I said before, if I were watching a movie about Mohammed or something and they mention their values and their God, would I believe it to be propaganda? NO. That's just plain dumb. It's what I should expect for watching a movie with the topic. Same with Christmas. Since it is supposedly the commemoration of the birth of Christ, then mentioning something about it shouldn't be offensive. Please people, get a grip.

I notice you're confusing the secular holiday of Christmas (whoops, pro-tip: the word Christmas denotes solely a religious meaning just as COUNTLESS everyday, non-religious words are solely religious. As in it doesn't. The origin of a word doesn't change it's current meaning), with the pagan holiday that the Catholic church took over millenia later.
Try again? You sad little idiot.
Well, I don't know if this poster is a troll, but I agree. This movie boldly states that we must accept things on blind faith, a proposition I find dangerous. At the same time, though, Santa is forced to prove himself, so I don't know if Santa totally gets his way and earns "blind faith."

My dear friend there is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUCH THING AS RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA.
No one said that you have to believe in God, you must choose for yourself.
However there is a God, and He is more real than I myself am real, it is my sincere desire that God will reveal Himself to you, more than that I hope that you'll allow God to reveal Himself to you.
It is important to believe in something GREATER than yourself, without Faith life is lifeless.
To look beyond yourself is to acknowlege that you're not not alone in the
Universe, if it were not for God you nor anyone in the world would exist.
It is because of the Divine that life exist, we live in and because of God.
All that we have comes from above, life has meaning because of the Divine Realm, just stop to think about it for a moment.
Learn to live in the HERE AND NOW, every moment that your heart beats is a miracle in and of itself, if you look into the natural world around you, into the various mechanics of the human body, into the vast and wonderous cosmos you cannot but help notice that there is a precise design in the natural world and this design speaks to us of a Designer, of a greater element, a greater Power that is more than we.
There is no reason to not believe in God, it is true that Catholics, Muslims, Communist, Nazis, KKK, Mormorns and many more have proved stumbling blocks to those who would come to God and accept His love and grace, however there is no excuse to not accept God or even turn to Him in time of need.
God is no respecter of persons, His arms are ever open to those who are tired, weary, helpless, hopeless, lonely and neglected.
Just look upward, reach out and grasp the Hand that gave up everything to bridge the void between Heaven and Earth.
CelestialsKnight... ehem.
'There is no such thing as religious propaganda' screamed out in capitals has already made it quite hard to take anything you say seriously... do you realise how crazy that is? Do you realise the irony of what you are saying?
Firstly; Evangelists have proven to be money making machines that spout merchandise at any chance to make a buck. Scientology, Jehovah’s Witnesses, even Christianity are major culprits. I have no doubt that you are speaking of a single religion (no guesses) so how can you say this? You dont believe that the religions you have listed have not created propaganda against you? Your religion does the same against theirs.
Religion IS propaganda, in it nature. The dictionary says "Propaganda [from modern Latin: 'propagare', "extending forth"] is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people." This is the definition of how religion spreads.
You believe there is a god, fine. But dont tell us such clichéd drivel like 'without Faith life is lifeless' or that 'Catholics, Muslims, Communist, Nazis, KKK, Mormorns are stumbling blocks' because you contradict yourself as they are the same as you, pointing the finger at others saying its their fault, being righteous.
You are certain there is a god? Well, Im certain there isnt.
I ask you, is there reason to believe in god? Why does there have to be a reason to be good? Why not take out all the good things in the many, many religions out there and think for ourselves as opposed to taking word for word a story that has been rewritten over 2000 years and was designed for warring tribes, otherwise we'll never stop being just that.
If you are certain there is no God.... What thoughts pass through your mind when you contemplate Death? Sorry- maybe too personal a question.... but that is precisely why I accepted Jesus Christ at face value and believe he is God's Son.... cuz now when I think about Death- It don't bother me at all... I have peace that passes all understanding, joy that isn't dependant on any situation or experience, love that forgives every wrong thing I've ever done, a new heart that doesn't even WANT to sin but instead glorify God... I'm certain that most would think me to be stupid or insane... but whatever- if you could have one split second of what being a lowly sinner saved by the grace of God feels like- U'd never want your old life again.... but wait- you can have it:)
I'm praying for you!
Of'course the OP from over a year ago is a troll...but in general, if someone had a problem with Christian messages in a normal film then I could actually understand that. Like if religions were mentioned in movies like Die Hard or something. But complaining about Christian messages in a Christmas film is ridiculous and flat out stupid. As commercialized as Christmas has become, it's still only celebrated by Christians. I'll email you a cyber cookie if you can find a Muslim or Jewish person that celebrates Christmas. I don't see why an atheist would literally complain about religious propaganda in a film centered solely around the set of a religious holiday. It just makes you look a bit stupid.
shareit's still only celebrated by Christians. I'll email you a cyber cookie if you can find a Muslim or Jewish person that celebrates Christmas
I think the ending was changed for a reason that the Postal service wasn't offically a government body. It is a federal agency. The essential idea is the same though. If the federal goverment believes their is a god with no proof then what about santa clause its a similar concept.
shareParanoia is dangerous as well...seriously, do you think every people make movies just for propaganda? Some of them maybe, but there's a thread about propaganda in every movie board I've been lately here at imdb. I mean, after all it's just a movie, you choose wether you believe what these people tell you or not.

this is the definetely the worst movie ever http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104055/
I think that you guys are too serious and somehow off-topic.
To me, the aim of the movie is to urge audiences to ponder on the "meaning" of Santa Claus rather than the "existence" of Santa. The movie is not merely prevailing on audiences to believe in Santa Claus, it gives us a concept that life can be filled with joy and hope only if we set a "model" of Santa Claus in our minds.
"Is there a Santa Claus?" It is quite a complicated question. However, if we change the question into "Isn't there a Santa Claus?" I think the answer would be quite simple, because those who once help us or make us feel life is much perfect are the Santa Claus!
I'm a Pagan but I am okay with them having a Christian message in a Christmas movie.

Oh! You mean like your sadly gullible and hypocritical science-hating bigotry of the truly blind and phony faith of the willfully ignorant easily refuted at www.creation.com. As a true Christian like those who founded this greatest country in the world where even atheists are relatively safe (versus proven lawless, fascist treatment atheists dish out to others, including their own), my faith is anything but blind.
James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying (or "documenting," from the Koine dokimion) of your faith works patience.
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial (or "documenting," from the Koine dokimion) of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
