Macy's Says No To 1994 Remake

I picked up a copy of the 1994 remake this past weekend and I think I know why Macy's refused to allow use of their name. During the early scenes the intoxicated Santa Claus moons Kris Kringle in front of children and later on there is a bar scene with a row of Santas getting sloshed. These two scenes are the only ones that are offensive in this family type movie but I believe probably over the top as far as Macy's is concerned. I say good for them! The original Miracle On 34th St. is a magnificent classic and personally I don't think any remake could ever surpass it. It like many of the older movies can go 90 minutes to two hours without profanity, mooning, nudity, etc. I love the way the romantic scens were handled. You really did not see all that much however the chemistry between many of the older stars was exciting and yes quite sensual but when the doors closed everything was left to the viewer's imagination. To me that was much more dramatic than watching two nudies roll around like wild animals. LOL Anyway, the remake was OK but I don't intend to hang on to it for long. Cah
