I love how sappy this is.

Totally unrealistic even aside from the Samta Claus debate. That's not what I mean.

Everything in this film, every person, every room, every prop, every location - was 100% picture perfect. Children perfectly dressed in $300 coats, little boys in ties, little girls in dresses and ribbons. Not one person with a wrinkle or a hair out of place and every room a showroom. Intentionally or not, this remake seemed to feature a NUMBER of details that mirrored the 1940's. including taxicabs and the newspaper ads.

How is the movie unrealistic?

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

It's a movie. About Santa Claus. What part of that were you expecting to be realistic? The whole darned thing is an homage to the original, and to the ideal. Sheesh!

OMG-- I said the exact same thing, on another thread. Of course it's unrealistic. It's not as good as the original, but it's ok. Harmless.
