Will There EVER Be a More Bad Ass Hitman Movie?

I dont think so.

No women, no children.

The movie is so realistic and Leon is so sympathetic with his milk glasses, poor leaving conditions, cheap clothes, going to the movies to checkout classics, even saving little mathilda and nurturing her when he had no interest in her whatsoever.

As a Hitman he was so good. He moved like a sly cat. He took bullets repeatedly. He took on an entire mob by himself. He took on cops. WENT TO A FUCKING FBI BUILDING AND took out the everyone in it and saved the girl in secs.
Took an entire swat in a small apartment that was barely holding up while being shot. Got Mathilda from them and made sure she was saved scratchless from out of nowhere and killed her monster murder with his last breathe when he was one second from escaping.

They didnt even capture him because of him he's stupid contractor sold him out. If it weren't for him they would've never found him.

I dont think this hitman will ever be topped. Shouldve also won best actor, film, supporting actors, and score. Total Epic historic Movie!

Natalie was also a really good actress for her age. Movie can probably only be topped if Besson himself makes another one, but i don't think he has any interests in such a project.

who's going to top the cast?
Even Natalie probably wont reprise her role as good nor Jean or Oldman.

So Matilda was just about to get the social services care she needed when this phycho bursts in and slays the whole police department.
Obviously this pisses the cops off , so they have to arrest him for public safety and use the swat team , then countless more innocent police officers , who are just trying to do their jobs are slaughtered .

Good observation.

Yes the corrupt social services just before Matilda got in armed to the teeth to ice the top corrupt commissioner who had murdered her entire family. Then raced into the hitman's arms after he wiped the building clean.
This only pisses off a corrupt commissioner who goes to a mob restaurant and threats children to find out the location of his cleaner. Then they go after him using that same girl as bait. Once he defends himself from the murdering attempts and lies they try to shoot down the entire building trying to get to him endangering that same girl and the entire neighborhood as well. Destroying private property and vandalizing along the way. Then they send it the brain dead zombies to murder this innocent till proven guilty man who is just living in his hotel room while trying to invade. No negotiating, no dialogue, just shoot to kill.
The best part of the movie is when this illegal immigrant assassin whipped the entire swat and police department with their own equipment for the protection of a girl which happens to survive by his inheritance.

i remember seeing a film about an old hitman teaching a young one, the young one was some pretty boy out of beverly hills 90210. He gave a great performance as totally void / unempathetic , cold ... whats the word ..

which actor? There's two versions of the series.

You premise sounds very familiar but once you said that series it threw me off as I dont know what actor your talking about.

For a sec, I was thinking of Ryan Gosling.

Just thought he'd still be no.1 over Von and that I've seen some pretty good hitman films but yea all subjective of course.

It's certainly not a dig against Reno as Leon. I still listed him as my #2 fave. His was the more emotional of the two performances. He had more time to develop it as he was the primary character in that film, whilst Joubert was only a supporting character. Plus, despite both having the same occupation, they were very different characters with very different temperaments.

I only listed von Sydow as #1 because he is my favorite actor. Also, while the character he played was colder, (which is a key characteristic of being a hitman) the final scene in that film with him actually illustrated that he had some affinity/feeling for Condor. He gave a fascinating insight into the psychology of why he does what he does. But obviously, both actors are highly revered. Both performances (and films) are iconic. So much so that both of their takes on the archetype have been copied and held as a template in the genre. For example, Boondock Saints was clearly heavily influenced by Leon, just as Breaking Bad was influenced by the Joubert character, going so far as to borrow language from the films that influenced them.

In any case, I would say that they're both great performances for different reasons.

Yea but since I think i've never seen Sydow's version or even know who he is. Given my reasons about I had to doubt the list. Now given that he is more emotional, strange, and even bizarre with the story included is part of the reason that makes him so unique and worthy of the top spot.
Cold and with some sort of very little remorse could be given in any hitman. Reno's story is highly unique and special and likable worthy of no.1 and perhaps not even a hitman.

Okay, I don't even like this movie, but I honestly don't remember any scene that suggested he actually slept with her. Yes, there was indeed something creepy about their connection and it did felt a bit innapropriate at some points, but nothing suggested that they actually had sex.

Would No country for old men be considered a Hitman movie? I'd say that's better. This is amazing, but that tops it.
