Black character in this and The Replacements

Is it just me or is this like this in football films with a black character not having a catching ability or was it a coincidence? Hanon lacked catching ability until the big game when he pictured the ball as a TP roll whereas Clifford Franklin in The Replacements had speed, but couldn't catch. Let's not forget when Hanon put that tar on his hands and Franklin in The Replacements had that sticky stuff put on his hands. It's kind of eerie if you think about it how they're similar.

Well, Necessary Roughness (another cult favorite) had yet another black player (Featherstone), a wide receiver who couldn't catch a flu. I think it's NOT coincidence.

very similar in both films at the point when they clap their hands together when shouting BREAK they get stuck together.

Maybe the writers and directors think if they make the Black character the star of the football team, people would be outraged because, of course, the Black character would be a good athlete (because people make fusses about things like that).

Because they want that stupid, "OMG he caught it!" moment which requires a WIDE OPEN touch down because of the BLAZING speed.

Black people are fast, white people aren't (full stereotype and it's true) for the most part. So there ya go.
