'The season starts Friday'

Anybody else notice when Billy says this? It's at around 43 minutes into the movie during the second team meeting. He says, "Tomorrow's an off day. The season starts Friday." Well, how can that be? Baseball season starts in April and they are supposedly in the middle of summer at that point... Seems weird to me. Maybe he meant to say "series"? Any thoughts?

On a side note, did anyone else notice the one guy during the press conference who after Billy says, "Any questions?" just sits there, stock-still while everyone else is jumping up and down, yelling, and waving? Every time I see that part I just have to chuckle.

Such a cute movie!

He is referring to their season (ie their quest to first place) starts friday. He wasnt specifically talking about the start of the season (ie opening day).

If you have been referred to my signature it means someone should slap you for your stupidity!

Billy was trying to interject some positive energy into a clubhouse that was very negative.
