This move is better than Rookie of the year because it is less cliche, more believable, more realistic, more interesting, knows more about the game of baseball, for a smarter audience, and still great, inspiring and dramatic. Also the ending is more surprising and less cliche.
Great film.

This was a good movie but Angels in the Outfield surpassed Rookie of the Year and Little Big League. But I liked LBL it was o.k. But not really that interesting.

shareYou can't even compare Angels in the Outfield to Little Big League. Angels in the Outfield is just a good kid's movie from Disney but as the others have alluded to Little Big League is a solid baseball movie.
As far as baseball movies of this ilk are concerned, I put Little Big League second behind The Sandlot. Rookie of the Year is a distant third.

If you like the faith aspect of Angels in the Outfield, that's fine, but you can't say it was a better baseball movie because it's just not true.
