Movie that time forgot.
I haven't heard this movie even mentioned in the past ten years. I luckily have a copy on VHS that I got when I was about six. I just remembered it while I was in the bathroom randomly! It's a really good movie.

shareI bought the soundtrack off eBay =)
The music is composed by Basil Poledouris
It's such a great movie
Is this the one where he fights the snake? And there's blood and a temple or something? And I remember a big bridge....
As long as there is Hope.....
that's the one. and that funny guy(I can't remember his name atm) from the Princess Bride.
this movie is a total classic. I remember refusing to watch the icky and childish cartoon version of The Jungle Book, and grabbing this version instead.
Baloo is my hero. -hugs-
Me too! When I was really little my mom would ask me what movie I wanted to watch, to which I'd often reply "Jungle Book!" Then she'd ask, "cartoon or real people?" I *always* picked the live-action version. :-D
The funny thing is, I rewatched it tonight and it holds up well even though I'm a critical teenager. I suppose part of it was that Jason Scott Lee was my first big crush--and I still find him (in this movie) one of the most attractive men on earth. :-D
This is on WGN right now. It is a shamefully overlooked adventure film. It's really entertaining, and the acting and production values are so much better than you would expect them to be. I think the film juggles its themes of civilization vs. the wild, imperialism and assimilation quite deftly, too. In the vein of the Indiana Jones adventures moreso than the Disney cartoon.
