Is this version of The Jungle Book anyone else's favorite??

I love this movie. My family used to own it on DVD. It's well made and I remember watching it many times and never growing tired of it.

Heck yeah! I simply loved watching this movie as a child and still think it's pretty good now, also because of the animals :) no it didn't stay true to the book as the animals can't talk but it had wonderful actors human and animal, some amazing action sequences some very cute and funny scenes and overall was just a great movie so yes I much prefer it to the Disney version, I have a love/hate relationship with Disney :P

Dude this is a Disney film, and the animals didn't talk in this one.

Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shores... burning with the fires of Orc.

Oh and I forgot to mention the spectacular shots of India, the setting is stunning, is a shame this one had to be Disney too though =/ o well

YES ! THis is definitely my all time favourite version of The Jungle Book. It's actually just one of my all time favourite films. I just think it's timeless. I have watched it several times since I was about 6, I'm 17 now and it is still just as amazing as it was the first time I watched it. It's just amazing :D

reply

Yes. Easily the best adaption. And one of the best action/adventure movies ever made. PERIOD.

The name is Bundy... *Al* Bundy.

My favorite version too. The other ones don't compare. I like everything: the actors, the backgrounds, the story (even if it's not the original story, but combined with other Kipling stories).

Mine too!!!

It's always a big delight to watch this movies every time I have the chance. So far, I think I've seen it a few good times and every time I notice new details.

reply

Hey man, are you following me?! Just joking :) But I know what you mean. It's fun for me to rewatch movies from my past and find little things. Or like you said, I can watch a movie I've seen so many times and find something new in it every time.

reply

Lol, I'm not following you. I just happen to like this movie A LOT. I only comment on message boards where I'm interested in the actor or movie.
This movie in particular...I first saw it when it came out in 1994 and I was hooked for good. But it was only when I started to re-watch it, that I began to notice little details absolutely wonderful.

I remember how poor those times were and still I managed to find money to see it twice.

It is definitely my favourite version of it, and I wish that I could get it on DVD this Christmas.

I think "Captain Planet" is something that should be mandatory to watch nowadays.

Team Jacob!

This is also my favorite version. Hell, it's an awesome film! I grew up watching this film. It's underrated and so unknown by most of the world, needs more attention before some horrible remake comes along... Which will probably happen anytime soon.

Awesome actors as well.
9/10
