I've just read the original novel... wouldn't it be great if they did an animation (real-life would be even better, but I don't imagine it happening) of the entire Jungle Book? Not just with the Mowgli stories, but featuring the other original characters like the white sea-lion and the mongoose and that little boy with the elephants?
shareIt would indeed. Animation doesn't have to be the usual Disney silliness with the cutesy songs, etc. - it can be very serious and very dignified. Look at Watership Down. I wish somebody'd do it.

Kipling is not looked upon fondly in India. So to do an authentic reproduction of the novels means stereotypes must be placed. That's why this version is so amazing because there are so few stereotypes, and many ideas can be connected to Hinduism, Buddhism, and some connections to Rama.
