So, is Pat male or female?

I like this movie, it's silly and cheesy, but still very enjoyable. However, I was really disappointed in the ending. It left the issue of Pat's sex unresolved. I always assumed that she is a guy, and Chris was the girl. But I didn't get confirmation. Any ideas or thoughts?

Pat's a girl because in an episode of SNL Pat kissed another person of an indistinguishable gender but took the position of a female in the kiss while the other person took the position of the male. After a viewer noticed this and told Julia Sweeney about this, Julia admitted that Pat was a girl.

First of all, there isn't supposed to be an answer. Secondly, the kiss thing made julia admit that pat was a girl. she hadn't decided before that.

From my own point of view, i was young when i saw the film first and i decided that pat was a boy played by a girl and chris vice versa. Now i know it's not supposed to be revealed.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't up to Julia Sweney to decide this. It was and always has been to the writters and creators of SNL. And they never wanted Pat's sexuality to be realized.

I too want to know what the position of a female in a kiss is. My God, what if I've been kissing all wrong all this time?!

My unscientific experience shows that during a kiss, females tend to put their arms around a guys neck, and the male usually puts his hands around the females waist... that's my guess.

reply

Wrong!

My scientific experience leads me to the undisputed truth. The male can be distinguished from the female during a kiss because the male slighty leans his hips back, so that his rising boner doesn't touch the female and give away his awkward human anatomy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

MY personal scientific experience is that men tend to touch a woman's face or neck. Not only is it very sensual but it is a way to control the head so that she's at the angle the guy wants. Very controlling but (if you ask me) very sexy.

Movies and real life, too!

As an aside, in the middle ages it was considered an erotic (i.e., forbidden) gesture for a man to touch a woman under the chin--a gesture that is both sensual and controlling. Just by way of example, think of Rick O'Connell grabbing Evelyn's chin in order to kiss her through the bars of his prison. Anyway--I'm just coming up with examples of men touching women's faces to facilitate kissing.

You--lighten up. You--big trouble. You--get in the car.

The entire point of the movie and SNL sketches were to keep us guessing. We are NEVER supposed to know the true gender of Pat and Chris. It's just gonna be one of those big mysteries of life I guess, cause I doubt they will ever tell us. Hell, I don't even think Lorne Michaels knows at this point!

who cares.... it's pat!!!!!

Julia Sweeney did say that if you watch the film you can tell what sex Pat is. I belive Pat's gender is Male, but sex is Female.

WHATS BELOW THIS LINE OF TEXT IS THE COPIED SECTION!!!
After Pat gets fired from looking into people's mail, HE walks into the store to get a few personal items. When HE's talking to Tippy about getting the personal items, the eye dropper and the deodorant stick disappear and reappear between shots. Tippy puts the eye dropper and the deodorant stick inside the bag three times. The bag clearly contains three of everything, except the napkins.

This means nothing. People often use a male reference when talking about something. For example, I'm sure you've often seen a woman walk into a room where there are other women and she says something like "What are you guys up to?", she doesn't say gals or girls, but guys. Does that mean they are all really men?

reply

Well maybe if the situation takes place during a transvestit convention.
