If you're looking for a hilarious comedy about a pianist, watch The World of Henry Orient, with Peter Sellers. Though the title is about his character in the movie, it's really about two teenage girls that have a crush on an avant-garde classical pianist. Peter Sellers is absolutely hilarious. Even if you don't watch the whole movie, the concert scene where he plays the modern piece is so funny that I almost hurt myself. The scene is a must see, though some serious classical musicians may find it a touch irreverent.
shareI also meant to say that "The World of Henry Orient" is NOT based on a real person. My apologies for getting off topic on this one.
share One I can think of...
Copying Beethoven, about a young female composition student that goes to be Beethoven's copyist. and they fall in love. Not very historically correct, but I liked it anyway. Stars Ed Harris as Beethoven and Diane Kruger as Anna Holtz ( the copyist)
What about Carlo Gesualdo. Not a pianist but a cool as composer. and kinda crazy
