Dancing dream

Could anyone shed some light on the dancing sequence? I'm writing an essay on Coen Brothers movies and I'm supposed to understand every single bit, but I didn't get the dancing dream. Is there any meaning, symbolism or whatsoever behind it?

I think its suppose to mean Norville's temptation and chase of fame and glory in the shape of vampish woman and his look at the end is his questioning look of if what he is doing is morally right.

I suppose that you can say that; but it really has nothing to do with a fanciful dream sequence which includes 'L'Oiseau Rebelle' from the opera 'Carmen' by Georges Bizet.
