Does anyone else remember a MASH episode in which Klinger invents a hula-hoop, and wants Winchester to finance it. Then at the end of the episode, one of them stumbles on the idea for the Frisbee. Anyone thing the Coens inadvertantly ripped off MASH?
shareI do. The thought had occurred to me as well, but The Coens obviously borrow ideas from absolutely everywhere... It could also be a coincidence because the same company did market both of these things long before MASH or HP ever existed.
shareIn the end credits it is noted that this was a fictional account of the development of the HULA HOOP and gives credit to the founders of the the toy company WHAM-O as developers of both the HULA HOOP and the FRISBEE... so no, the Coen brothers did not inadvertently rip off anybody including some vague reference to a MASH episode...
