Hoop Dreams sequel?

I was looking at a review for the dvd, and I came across this:

"There is an interesting story about the bonus features offered on Hoop Dreams. Criterion originally authorized the filmmakers to make a follow-up piece on the key characters in Hoop Dreams. But when they approached the boys, now men, they learned that their life since the movie was as interesting as the original film itself. So the Behind the Scenes featurette that was supposed to be on the disc is now being made into a Hoop Dreams sequel, proper. Our loss becomes, hopefully, another cinematic classic."

While I wish this was on the dvd, I will gladly pay to see this.

And did anyone else go through the booklet that came with the dvd? I read that Arthur's father and William's brother Curtis were both shot and killed. Very sad news. I'll probably watch the dvd tomorrow, with Arthur and William's commentary. Can't wait to hear what they have to say.
