Before I ask my question, I would just like to say that this is the best documentary I have ever seen and one of the most important films of all time. Also, the St. Joes coach is a real scumbag who didnt give a whit about any of those kids. What a villian.

But now my question...How is it that Arthur was allowed to play on the basketball team if he was failing a subject and had to attend summer school? This was in his senior year when Marshall finished 3rd in the state. I know when I was in high school, if a student was failing a class, there was NO way the would be able to play a sport. Thoughts?

not sure what their rules were but at my high school the only grade that mattered for sports were the semester grades which meant you could be failing and/or even fail the quarter as long as you passed for the semester. also i didnt play basketball so I am not sure what season that is, but he probably failed classes during the part of the year basketball wasnt being played.
