Was that....

Chris Webber & Juwan Howard that i saw in the film?

Where William went during the summer for the camp, preparing them for college. I swore i saw them there.

reply

It was. If you look closer, you will see Jalen Rose as well as other major college and pro stars.

reply

I don't remember seeing Webber but that was definitely Juwan Howard as well as Jalen Rose. Those were all I saw ... damn, which brings up a good point, how did Michigan pull that one off? :)

reply

damn, the Fab 5 were the best group of college players on any team, EVER.
Too bad they could not get the NCAA crown :(

reply

Guess they weren't the best ever then, if a NCAA crown is the top prize.

reply

maybe if they had all stuck around till their senior years and won a championship, but they weren't even the best group of college players on any team that season! Duke (Christian Laettner, Grant HIll, Bobby Hurley) won the championship that year. I don't know much about past college teams like UCLA in the 60's and 70's, but my pick for best college team in recent history (the last 25 years) would be the 1989-90 UNLV team with greg anthony, larry johnson, stacy augmon and anderson hunt. They destroyed Duke by 30 points in the NCAA Final, the largest margin of victory ever in a National Championship game.

reply

they were great but they were also paid a lot of $ to go to mich-i laughed my butt off when webber tried to call that time out-he is a huge bag of puss who will ruin a team very quickly with his big head and slow feet-i always liked jalen rose but webber is a walking basketball stiff-

Chris Webber is very prominent... but you don't recognize him with the high fade haircut that he is wearing... there is a closeup of his face during one of the classroom scenes at the Nike camp...

reply

That was Chris Webber.

reply

Juan Howard was pretty visible. I think I saw him in the dorm part at the Nike Basketball camp. I'm surprised it actually was him.

reply

yes it was. Another of the Fab 5, Jalen Rose was also in the Nike camp. All three would lead Michigan to the final four in '93.

reply

I saw Jalen Rose and Kevin O'Neil. Go Raps!!

Seeing Juwan Howard shows how close William really was to making it. At the time, neither of them knew what they were in for.

One made it to the NBA the other appeared in what the most prolific film critic in the world named the best film of the 90s! Both really accomplished something.

William or Athur never made it to the NBA but will both be remembered for being a part of one of the best movies of all time. Or at least one of the best documentaries. A few future pros appear in this, but Juwan is the easiest to spot.
