True Life:Fat Camp

Camp Hope and the Ben Stiller Character Tony Perkis is loosely based on an actually camp owner Tony Sparber and the New Image Weight Loss Camps first camp based in California and then 2 more in Pennsylvania and Florida. This was a fun and laugh out loud movie. I did pick up on the parallels between the two, the California location, the Infomercial (Tony has been featured on many TV shows including the Montel Williams Show), the end of summer challenge, and the Pennsylvania connection. I spent one summer at his Pocono Trails Camp in PA and while there was told about the connection. Pocono Trails Camp was also featured on the MTV series True Life:Fat Camp.
