i havent seen this on here.. apache relay doesnt make sense...

Okay the apache relay makes NO sence being called a relay. It really should be called a go-cart race. Everything up until the go carts did not count. Jerry waited to start the go-cart until the player from MVP was there. The whole beginning where they were tryin to guess the answers the fastest and all the other events, had absolutely no point... Jerry got to the go carts first, he should have drove off first.. instead they waited for both and waved a flag for them to start!

The whole thing seemed like a three part competition. I think the two events were meant to be separate first being the physical and mental and last the go cart race. The editing and writing for this sequence should have been a lot better. I agree, it isn't clear what the exact rules and procedures are for the apache relay.

So is it who ever win 2/3? Because it makes it seem like the winner of the relay is the person who wins the go cart race.

If it is in fact best 2 out of 3, then Camp Hope was the winner. They won the mental and go cart sections of the relay. You have severely confused the way that I now think of this film. I did notice the way the go cart race started, but never really thought of the reasons why it was like that. I am sticking to my original theory of relay portions.

They should just have never labeled it as a "relay" race.. but... they did use the sticks to pass off to players.. so i do not believe it is a 3 part competition. Camp hope was way behind the physical, and camp mvp started the intellectual way before camp hope, they did not wait for both teams. Camp hope caught up in the intellectual round. I believe this just truly is a mistake. They should have never waved a flag, it should have been who ever gets the relay stick 1st drives off 1st.

Yeah it is definitely a mistake and has bothered me since I was ten (I'm in my twenties now). What definitely gives it away as a mistake is the fact that the representatives from each team are skip racing to the go karts while the crowd cheers them on and Jerry is screaming "Come on!" (quite annoyingly I might add). The fact that they're racing to the karts and Jerry is screaming for the british kid to hurry up leads you to believe that the team who gets to the karts first has an advantage. But then there's a "1,2,3 go!" kind of start to the race where both teams wait for the flag to drop. Horrible oversight

My guess is that the winner of the relay stuff leading up to the go kart race would get an advantage... say, if they got to the go-karts 8 seconds ahead of the other team, they'd get an 8 second head start in the go-karts. That's why the karts started at the exact same time, since both teams got to the karts at the same time. Obviously, this could have been explained better, but I think that's the best explanation for what was going down.

you obviously missed the scene where "Maury Garner" says to Gerry, "I did not send you to Go Kart camp".

from what i saw both racers where already in the carts and nicholas and the mvp guy were neck and neck when getting to the go carts so i think it makes since. if everything was off of physical activity it wouldnt be fair to the fat kids lmao
